Stephen J. Salamon established The LionTrainer Group, LLC in June, 2007
to reach out to Trade Association members and motivate them to become engaged
in the legislative process. In September 2007, he expanded the firm's services to include working closely with selective elected officials and organizations to secure political contributions not available through the traditional fundraising process. Steve has been an independent health
insurance and employee benefit Broker for over 25 years.
He has held numerous leadership positions for the National Association of
Health Underwriters during his 32 year career in the industry. They
include:
- Chairman, Health Underwriters Political Action Committee (HUPAC), June
2001-June 2002.
- Chairman, National Association of Health Underwriters Legislative
Council, June 2000-June 2001.
- Received the Baltimore Association of Health Underwriters "Person of
the Year Award" in 1997.
- Received the National Association of Health Underwriters "Distinguished
Service Award" in 1995.
Steve was actively involved in the campaign and administration of former Maryland Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. Governor Ehrlich appointed
Steve to The Maryland Health Care Commission in March of 2003. Governor Ehrlich named Steve Chairman of The Maryland Health Care Commssion in October of 2004 and he served in that capacity until his resignation on
Februrary 15, 2007.
